DUC’s boreal program works with federal, provincial and territorial governments to develop effective boreal wetland policies.

We strongly support the development of boreal wetland policies across all Canadian jurisdictions. To aid in this effort, we take a collaborative approach to conservation by:

• Informing government policies and legislation that conserve boreal waterfowl habitat
• Supporting and influencing the development of land use planning strategies, industrial land use regulations and protected areas on Crown land
• Collaborating in government programs that align with DUC’s waterfowl conservation objectives
• Advancing boreal wetland policy by developing strong relationships with governments, industry, Indigenous Peoples and other conservation groups
