What is it?
A visual, plain-language field guide for identifying and classifying wetlands in Yukon.

The guide was developed to support the implementation of the Yukon Government’s Policy for Stewardship of Yukon’s Wetlands.

- A user-friendly, vegetation-based wetland classification decision key;
- 10 detailed fact sheets for each wetland class, form, and type;
- A Wetland Vegetation Section featuring 72 common Yukon wetland plants;
- Insights into Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Indigenous Wetland Values; and,
- Information on permafrost, soils, wildlife, and species at risk.
Who is it for?
- Anyone interested in identifying and classifying wetlands in the Yukon;
- People whose decisions or actions impact wetlands or their functions; and,
- Educators, landowners, Indigenous land and water guardians, or anyone interested in the Yukon’s wetlands.
