Informing Placer Reclamation Activities With Respect To Enhancing Waterfowl Use

The Yukon has very little data to inform land management decisions around wetland reclamation. To address this information gap, we examined ponds created by placer mining in the Yukon to see what characteristics of these ponds are correlated to waterfowl use. We provide suggestions on what characteristics could be considered when pond reclamation is undertaken.
